Zebrahead - Rated U for Ugly, from Broadcast to the World

This is the first band I got into after High School was over. I can’t remember how I found out about them I just remember after finding out about them going to a local record store and buying EVERYTHING they had. This is still my favorite album from them though. When I listen to this album I think of the tiny room I had to live in for a few years, and the very crooked Tshirt they sent me for joining their fanclub. I had some extra money at the time so I thought why not and paid 20 bucks to be in the fanclub. Pretty cool because I got a few stickers 2 shirts and this CD.

Bad Religion - Evangeline, from The Process of Belief

I started listening to Bad Religion around 8th grade, or 2002. I believe that is the year this album came out. The first song I remember hearing of Bad Religion was Kyoto Now! and I was instantly hooked but a little off put. First the name confused me, I have never been religious because I used to feel uneasy when I was a kid when people would openly talk against god or the government. I guess it was part of a youthful innocence I had where I thought everything was right in the world and anyone talking against things put me off. I ended up liking Bad Religion anyways, and many other bands who spoke out about religious and political views very soon after it but Bad Religion was my first taste, and it was a great one.

At the time I didn’t like punk rock really, mostly because I can’t enjoy music with bad recording quality and most punk bands have that really flat sounding recording because they either can’t afford to do better or because “FUCK THE MAN” or something. But The Process of Belief was different, awesome sound, awesome quality I loved it.

Anyways enjoy one of my favorite songs from one of what I consider the best albums ever written.

Music

There are very few bands that I like more than one or two albums which is why usually when people ask me what my favorite band or music is I tell them my favorite Album. Which is Finch - Say Hello to Sunshine. But there are a few others, thought they don’t rank as high to me as that album does they are pretty close. Here is a list that I came up with just thinking about what I listened to mostly while going through school and after graduating.

Chevelle - Wonder Whats Next
Thrice - Artist in the Ambulance
Finch - Say Hello To Sunshine
Incubus - A Crow Left to the Murder
Story of the Year - Page Ave
System of a Down - Steal this Album
Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory
Atreyu - Lead Sails Paper Anchor
Avenged Sevenfold - Waking the Fallen
Rage Against the Machine - Self Titled
Blink 182 - Take off your pants and jacket
Relient K - Mmhmm
Tera Melos - Patagonian Rats
Zebrahead - Broadcast To The World
Brand New - Deja Entendu
Bad Religion - The Process of Belief
Billy Talent - Billy Talent II
Mudvayne - L.D. 50
New Found Glory - Catalyst
Vampire Weekend - Self Titled

I think these coming weeks I will try to post one song from each of these albums that I feel is the best out of everything on each. I will also probably write about why I like this band/album and when I was listening to them.
